History of the Flagship Hotel in Galveston

The one-of-a-kind Flagship Hotel had been perched atop the 25th Street Pleasure Pier in Galveston, Texas, from 1965 until 2011. Suspended over the Gulf of Mexico, the hotel was a beloved landmark for locals and for visitors who stayed in the hotel or who came to marvel at its unusual structure. The Flagship Hotel is gone now, but it found a permanent place in the historical and sentimental lore of Galveston.
